Engst release their third studio album, 'Irgendwas ist immer'. The 13 new songs are often very melancholic in tone, but musically they still push forward. There are powerful drums, euphoric brass instruments, a guitar sound like a warm headlock - and of course, the voice of Matthias Engst. Influenced by punk and hardcore, weathered by life - yet often surprisingly, well, mainstream. It's not easy to describe this effect, but let's just say: Matthias Engst could have been the new Tim Bendzko, Mark Forster, or Ben Zucker with this voice. These comparisons are not meant as disses, but simply mean that he could also have the voice for the masses if he wanted to make radio-friendly music.
