Shatter And Fall - powerful Melodic Death Metal in all its darkest nuances

The emerging US-American Melodic Death Metal band HINAYANA will release their second studio album Shatter and Fall on November 10, 2023, via Napalm Records. The work impresses with impressive songwriting and the renowned featured guests Vincent Jackson Jones (Aether Realm) and Tuomas Saukkonen (Wolfheart). Produced by frontman Casey Hurd and Kevin Butler, Shatter and Fall was mastered by Dan Swanö at his Unisound studio. Like no other, the Texans incorporate modern elements into their Melodic Death Metal, setting them apart from genre giants such as Insomnium, Amorphis, and Swallow the Sun, and giving their distinctive sound a fresh unique selling point. After the release of their first demo EP, the band, founded in 2014, secured a solid place in the metal scene with the debut album Order Divine (2018). This was followed by the release of the EP Death Of The Cosmic (2020), with which HINAYANA defied the pandemic. Now they are ready to present their eleven new songs on a big European Tour this autumn, alongside their label colleagues from Wolfheart and Before The Dawn. Dominated by clean guitar riffs and catchy harmonies, 'Slowly Light Collides' opens the heavy gates of Shatter and Fall and appropriately introduces the new work. Together with guest vocalist Vincent Jackson Jones (Aether Realm), the dark growls of frontman Casey Hurd, and intricate riffs, 'Mind Is A Shadow' increases the intensity of the album. Groovy anthems like 'Reverse The Code' showcase the progressive elements typical of HINAYANA and their captivating dynamics. The overwhelming 'Spirit And Matter' and the electrifyingly played 'Triptych Visions' create a captivating atmosphere with haunting refrains, while drums and deep growls underline the familiar dark and impactful sound. With 'A Tide Unturning,' the Texan quintet, together with Tuomas Saukkonen (Wolfheart), delivers one of the most brutal and touching ballads of 2023. With Shatter and Fall, HINAYANA clearly demonstrate their development as well as their outstanding sense for dark nuances and their rightly established position in Melodic Death Metal.
